Although I have been involved in a family business that has been researching, developing, manufacturing and installing sunrooms for over 40 years, it has only been in the last 15-20 years that the concept of having a sunroom has become so popular.
"Outdoor living" is not generally synonymous with "Winterpeg". It is difficult to conjure up an enticing mental picture of a place where 6 months of winter is followed by a short mosquito season known as summer, which is probably why sunrooms have become so appealing. With a climate that has more sunlight than most of North America, people are looking for ways to take advantage of our abundance of "rays".
Initially our company manufactured and installed awnings and door canopies that would provide some protection against the sun. This led to our developing a revolutionary roofing system that would cover larger deck and patio areas.
In our infinite wisdom (actually our customers requests for protection against mosquitoes) we devised a screen wall system that evolved into a glass and screen enclosed area that provided a safe haven from airborne pests and extends summer by quite a few months. Now people could enjoy their deck from Feb./Mar. to Oct./Nov. depending on the weather and the sun. The rule of thumb is - up to minus 15, if the sun hits the glass you can use that sunroom without heat.
What type of sunroom is right for you depends a lot on what you want to accomplish, and of course, your budget. The fact that our enclosures are not packages but custom built for your home has given us an outstanding reputation. Also being around for over 40 years and standing behind our products has increased customer satisfaction. If you are looking for a way to take advantage of "sunny Manitoba", call us at 204-940-3030 or come to the factory for a tour.
